Yayasan Pemberdayaan Umat Indonesia is a social foundation formed to assisting poor people society in Special Region of Yogyakarta especially and Indonesia generally. Yayasan Pemberdayaan Umat Indonesia has been standing since October 5th 2001. Annualy, Yayasan Pemberdayaan Umat Indonesia has humanity program such as giving scholarship for poor students, helping poor old people having no family and permanent income by providing monthly living-cost, assisting orphan children by partly covering their monthly living-cost, assisting poor people by partly covering hospital fee such as treatment and medication payment, and assisting poor disabled people in their monthly living cost.
Recently, Yayasan Pemberdayaan Umat Indonesia makes a new breakthrough by assisting 5000 poor people. Its choice falls to pedicab driver, traditional market coolie and garbage scraper group. The idea comes from many reasons such as the lack of people interest in using pedicab, traditional market coolie and garbage scraper service. The reason of people leaving pedicab is because the availability of private vehicles and in the other hand traditional market coolie loss their customer because the easy use of troly. These problems make them difficult to in earning money to support their family.As a result, the number poor and unemployment increased.
We have experience in ourlast allowance distribution process which was down directly. We had a problem related in distribution in which people were in chaos while they receive the money. Now, we have solution to solve this problem by using undirect method for distributing the allowance via PT Pos Indonesia service. So that, the distribution process is held more safely. Moreover, by using this method we can reach all society up to countryside area since the receiver include near Yogyakarta even till other around Yogyakarta . This program will be held on august 2008. Yayasan Pemberdayaan Umat Indonesia hopes this program help to overcome many difficulties those society group since it goes with an our motto “we come with prosperity, wherever you are”.
